"You're right," Michael nodded but didn't move. This was nice for now.

"Mmm," Pete yawned as he lay limp in Michael's arms. Personally, Pete could have cared less if they moved or not.

Michael yawned because Pete did and carefully laid back down, the older man still in his arms. They'd go later.

Taking the risk of sounding childish, Pete had to speak what was on his mind. "Michael, I'm too afraid to go back to sleep. What if... What if that nightmare comes back again?" Pete stared up on the younger man, a confused look on his own face.

"Then don't sleep. What do you want to do?" Michael lifted his head to look down at Pete.

"I don't know..." Pete stared off into the distance, his face still contorted with confusion.

Michael shifted a little so he could look at Pete more comfortably. There really wasn't anything to do.

Bored with doing nothing at all, Pete smiled weakly and leaned upward, placing a close-mouthed kiss on Michael's lips.

Michael smiled against Pete's lips but didn't deepen the kiss. He wasn't really sure what game Pete was playing at this time.

After pulling his head back, and then pecking Michael's lips once more, Pete returned to his position on the guitarist's chest, a small, content smile on his lips.

Michael smiled, a little confused. It didn't seem like Pete wanted anything from him. Maybe he had misjudged the man.

Pete didn't know why kissing Michael had made him so happy. No one had ever done that before. It was always a quick fuck, and then Pete left. But, for some reason, he felt like there was a connection with Michael. And as wrong as it was, especially since there was a chance that Patrick was still alive, Pete loved living during that moment.

Michael fully expected Pete to start spitting out cliches any moment, and was relieved when it seemed like the coast was clear.

Pete could see that Michael was thinking about something. What, he didn't know, but he could see that the younger man was thinking. Growing tired of the silence, Pete started humming a song.

"I wish the pause button was real," Michael laughed. "I could use a guitar right now."

"I could use a bass and someone singing right about now," Pete stared up at Michael, hoping that maybe he could get Michaelt o sing something for him.

Michael raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to sing to you?"

Kind of nervous to ask Michael, Pete looked down as his feet and nodded.

Pete smiled slightly, happy that Michael hadn't rejected the idea. "Uhm, I don't know. You can sing whatever you'd like," Pete spoke in almost a whisper. He was interested in hearing the Aussie's song choice.

Michael thought a while. He could sing something Beckett wrote or something of Butch's but both choices seemed a little awkward at the moment so he decided on Hendrix's 'Little Wing' since it was the first song he could think of.

Pete smiled as Michael sang to him. The Aussie's voice was great for singing. Pete swayed a little as he listened to the familiar song.

The fact that Pete actually seemed to be enjoying his singing gave Michael a little more confidence even though it didn't change the sound of his voice. He felt better about being here with Pete.

Pete curled up closer to the guitarist and enjoyed the younger man's singing. It put the finishing touches on the job of calming Pete down. He felt safe in Michael's arms.
