The shore at night

This time, Frank refrained from backing away, and with his free, trembling hand, he clumsily brushed Mikey's hair.

That's probably one of the things I would never have guessed I would do before I die.

He slowly closed his eyes and repeated the kiss, losing himself deeply, no matter how his head was yelling at him to stay grounded.

His eyelids closed, Frank slowly pulled away after a few moments, head bowed to the ground, as he unbraided his hand from Mikey's. He wasn't sure what should come next, lacking both a movie dirrector and a plot. The scene should carry on.

"I... I'm... It's really..." Frank stuttered, not even sure of what he wanted to say.

Confused, Frank briefly peeked at him. He nervously fiddled with the hem of his shirt.

"What... do you mean?"

((*tackle-glomp* i'm so glad you're back.))

"Oh..." Frank let out, lost for words.

Would he actually dare ask more? He was paralyzed under Mikey's touch, and he was affraid this whole thing -reffering to the previous events- would crumble down in a second if he didn't carefully placed his words.

"Are you... I mean... Are you kind of like... together?" the last word was only spoken through a whisper.

Frank's eyes widened. "N... no! Of course not..." he blurped out in a hurry.

His mind took a swing. Does this mean that what just happened here was just another way to express his appreciation toward me...?

If it was the case, Frank couldn't tell what to expect, since he didn't clearly know either how he managed to be crushing on someone he barely met.

Frank grasped Mikey's wrists tightly, which were both on his sides, to halt them. Somehow, he felt that if Mikey kept it up, Frank would lose his mind completely.

He looked at him for a moment, staying silent.

When he finally spoke, he still had no clue of what he would say. "Do... So was this... was this some kind of 'nice meeting you' kiss?"

"Then... then... then what's wrong?" Frank asked back, a bit allarmed that he had fucked up somewhere and couldn't remember when.

Frank's throat clogged, and he felt the colors drain from his face.

Something wasn't right, and he didn't want to be rejected after having been given the confirmation that it wasn't a very bad joke put up on him.

"Don't... don't go..." Frank pleaded him, even if Mikey was still sitting next to him. He just felt as if the other was drifting away from his reach very fast. "I'm sorry if I messed up anything, just... stay...?"

"I'm not... I'm not toying with you at all!" Frank burst, the pinch of being misunderstood stamping his heart.

It was Frank's turn to be angry. He jumped to his feet, looking down at Mikey with a hurt look, and yet a witness would have believed he could bite and give rabies.

"Where did that come from?" he starts loudly. "You think I just fucking kissed you 'cause I felt like playing around when I just survived a plane crash? You think that I'm just looking forward to using you when I'm not even sure how long people are going to be able to live out here? I might be dumb enough to fall for someone I just met, but it doesn't change the fact that I've never lied to you either."

"Hey!" Frank growled. "You can't just walk away! You... you..." he felt himself softened, and that only frustrated him even more.

"If you weren't interrested in me in the first place, then you shouldn't have kissed me back afterward. You could have just told me to fuck off from the start."

"If we're both on the same level here, then why would you leave like you have some sort of grudge against me?" Frank asked as calmly as he could.

"All I want from you right now is to stay putt... and what do you mean 'find out'?" Frank was confused.
