| Blinking, Frank examined the tall palm trees spreaded accross the white sand. The sun was diving off the horizon, making the scenery around them very orange-red, very cliché. The temperature was lower than before, sending Frank a nervous shiver down the spine now that Pete's body heat was no longer by his side.
What came next?
"Tomorrow, we should look for survivors," Frank stated with a frown. He stood up on his tired legs. "Right now, we should just... find a place to sleep."

| Shivering and starting to regret the fact that he had forgotten to wear a hoodie on the plane ride, Pete carefully shook his head.
"You're right. I think we could both use a little rest."
Struggling and groaning as he began to move forward, Pete carefully rose to his feet, only able to stagger about, seeing as how his back was in excruiciating pain whenever he wasn't lying down. His face contorting and woncing in pain with every step he took, Pete began to walk more inland, searching for a safe place for the two of them to spend the night.

| Frank tagged along, but a weight pressed on his shoulders. Guilt and Frank didn't go well together.
"Pete," Frank hesitated. "Pete, wait. I'm sorry... I'm sorry for not jumping right away when you began to drown."

| Hearing Frank begin to speak, Pete hobbled as he turned around to face the other man.
"Frank, it's fine. We were both panicking. Thanks for jumping in even though you don't like the water. I appreciate it."
Pete gave a small, weak smile as he began to wince in pain again.

| Frank raised his eyebrows, both relieved from what he heard and uneasy toward Pete's winces. He caught up with him, and without much of a second thought wrapped a supporting arm around Pete, turning into a human crutch for his friend.
He never imagine how things could get fucked up from there. What was he doing? Being that close to Pete was far from normal. He had to keep in mind that he was helping out. There was nothing more to it. He was lending a hand to Pete who had an intoxicating smell surrounding him.
"Let's get over there," he whispered, nodding toward a boulder surrounded by three palm trees. The water wouldn't rise up to there.

| Appreciating the help Frank was giving him, Pete leaned on him further for support.
Thinking about how awkward the situation was, Pete was consumed in deep thought, not really paying attention to where Frank was leading him. How did things get to this point? How did the plane even crash? How was he able to sleep through all of it? But most importantly, why was he starting to rely on someone. This wasn't normal by Pete's standards. He wasn't supposed to rely on someone like this. He shrugged. Desperate times call for desperate measures. He'd have to stick together with someone, no matter how much he disliked it. He couldn't stay stranded here alone.

| Frank walked his friend to the said spot, carefully sitting Pete against the rock. By then, the sun had dissapeared and the moon had settled above them.
Without a noise, he flopped beside him and took a deep breath.
"We have a show tomorrow," Frank mentioned distantly.

| Pete groaned as he was placed on the rock. His back was really starting to get to him. He'd have to ask Frank to look at it tomorrow. Right now they both needed to get some shut eye.
His thoughts interrupted by Frank's comment, Pete looked up towards the brightly lit nighttime sky. The stars and the moon shone just the right way, allowing the light to carefully reflect off of Frank's face.
"Well unless you're going to start playing an imaginary guitar while flopping around on the sand, you might just want to cancel that plan."
Pete kept gazing towards the stars, a small smile forming on his sweaty face.

| "I know," Franked looked down.
The reminder of his lost (and probably destroyed) guitar pulled at his heart.
His guitar.
It was sickening, the entire plot where he couldn't lay his fingers on a row of frets. No more music. For how long?
Frank layed on his back, counting the waves as he counted the mesures through every song. Up to four then repeat.

| Pete noticed the dismal look on Frank's face and had a sense of understanding. The kid really liked performing. You could see it in his eyes, his playing, and his actions as he was on stage. Frank was like a natural born rock star.
"Look, I know you're going to hate missing the show, but as of now, you need to get some sleep. We both need each other healthy so we can see if anyone else is left."

| "I know," Frank agreed. The sand would be mangled in his hair when they reached morning.
The last thing he did before falling asleep was to cling at Pete's shirt, a reassurance that there'd be someone to remind him that he wasn't alone in this wreck.

| Making sure that Frank was actually asleep, Pete smiled a little as the other man held onto his shirt. Looking up to the sky one last time, Pete's eyelids began to droop. His breathing slowed, and he lulled himself to sleep by taking glances between Frank and the sky.
Maybe things would be okay after all. Maybe...

| Who opened the fucking window?
Frank stired. Birds. No; seagulls. Lots of 'em.
Should he open his eyes? An inside voice tells him that he has to remember something very important, but still half-asleep it's whether not a primary choice or it's simply impossible.
Damn, that mattress ain't comfy at all.
His foot swooned to the right, and confused at the lack of bed sheets and the grainy texture under it, Frank's eyelids flipped up.
The beach, the seagulls (the damned seagulls), the shore, the palm trees, the jungle, and finally the fine line of smoke rising above all.
"Oh yeah," he recalled.
On his side, Pete was sleeping curled up in a ball, and Frank poked his side as a wake up call.

| Pete groaned again. An insistant poking was waking him from his peaceful dream. His first peaceful dream in a long while. Lately he'd just been having those nightmares; the ones where he couldn't wake up, no matter how long he thrashed around or how loud someone screamed in his ear to try and wake him up.
So long dream.
"Ughh."
Pete groaned and opened his eyes to find Frank poking his side. Yawning and stretching his arms as best he could without hurting his back further, Pete stared back at Frank, slowly gathering his composure.

| "We need to get going. See if there are other survivors or something," Frank explained.
He stood up, eyes avoiding the shore. They were going in he jungle.

| "Stupid, stuck up New York bastard." Mikey muttered, dragging his suitcase behind him. "I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL, SAPORTA!" He screamed across the beach. He was met with silence and he gave a wry smile before continuing to walk. He wrapped his hand around the pill packet and smirked. "How far you gonna survive if Tom doesn't have these?" He taunted an imaginary Gabe. "There's no Bear, no live music. Nothing'll calm him down. Whatcha gonna do then?" His suitcase hit a rock and sent him flying to the ground. "Karma's a bitch." He sighed. | |

| His eyes darted at a small silhouette that was moving toward them. There was someone, meaning a survivor, at actually less than a mile from them. A jolt of happiness lightened Frank's features, and he found it difficult to hide his ecstatic smile.
Not carring if Pete would tag along or not, he clumsily started running, tripping too many times in the sand. He needed to know so many things... were there more survivors? Was this a deserted island? Could they be rescued? Did they have food?
Frank was listing up all his questions, waving at the approaching man. All these thoughts blinded him from a hollow spot in the sand and he soon found himself landing mouthfirst at the feet of the said person.

| "Did you just say something mean about someone?" Mikey laughed, holding out a hand to help the smaller person up. "Hey. I'm Mikey, Mikey Russell. You're Frank, aren't you?" | |

| Shaking, Frank dusted off his right hand on his shirt before welcoming Mikey's and dragging himself up.
"I... Yes, I'm... Frank," he stuttered. "You know me?"
He scanned the guy attentively, not being able to match his face to a previous encounter.

| Mikey rolled his eyes. "Not a scene kid, I see." He muttered to no one in particular. "You're in a band, yes?" He said in a voice one would use when talking to small children. "The band is famous, I listen to the band." This was all accompanied by hand gestures that did nothing, but made Mikey feel important. | |

| "Oh, yeah, of course," Frank replies a little surprised. "It's just... people have eyes mostly for Gerard or Mikey. Well, usually."
Frank looked around, desperate to see someone else. "Are you... alone?"

| "Uhh... there's a couple of assholes over that way." Mikey made a vague gesture with his hand. "And my boy is apparently alive, which is always good." He thought through what Frank had just said. "I'm a scenester, Frank. The girls that hang around us are always going on about someone, and they've gone on about you before. You have to use an interesting method of shutting them up." | |

| Frank had trouble nailing down why that random dude was more concerned about his band than the scenario that was rather hard to miss. Hello, plane crash... desert island...
He opted to ignore his comments on the groupies. "But... There are more people, right? And do they have a cell phone... a talkie... a radio, something?!"

| Staring at him in disbelief, Frank was on the brink of hysteria. He stepped forward to snatch the gadget from Mikey's hand, fumbling with it.
"D-Does it work?!" | |
