"I love you too. Now put a smile on your pretty little face." William hoped Michael hasn't misunderstood anything or, better, hadn't been listening. Everything's going to be fine as long as no one mentions Tom for the next few days. I don't want Sisky to think it has something to do with him.

Sisky smiled slightly. You're doing it again. You're making me feel better when you should be worried about yourself.

Sisky blushed and spoke quietly so only William could hear. "One, you're too good to me. Two, I'm kinda sore now."

William laughed. "Ha, wow, sorry. Well, if that can make you feel better, Pete wasn't much..." Oh fuck. Just in time. Quick, change the subject. He scratched his head. "Where's Gabe?"

"All the same," Sisky scooted away from William so they were no longer touching and wiped his face. "I don't want to make anyone mad."

William chuckled. I have no idea how the Butcher could let him out of his sight for more than five seconds. He's probably not even angry at him. "What the fuck is he doing? I'm getting more paranoid evey minute." I guess that's how he felt all along.

Michael looked over his shoulder at the two of them and went back to using broad leaves to wipe up Pete's mess. "It dried on your face. We'll need water for that." I thought William said he wasn't with Sisky.

William noticed Michael glancing at him and Sisky. "Anything wrong?" Maybe he wants us to help him clean.

Gabe had wandered around for at least 15 minutes. His thoughts were rambling in his head. In his arms, he held an empty guitar case. At each step he took into the denivellation of the woods, water flew from one side to another, nearly spilling each time. Gabe was glad he had gotten the chance to take some fresh air, alone. He had had enough witnesses to his reactions.
Why won't the uneasiness leave me? He trampled down a hill. The water rocked from one side to the other, knocking itself each time to the borders of the guitar case. I'll never cheat on anyone. It'd be impossible to do so knowing how much it hurts.
He stopped, seeing a small group of men from afar. He noticed the presence of one more. It was Sisky. He looked down in the guitar case, his reflection staring back at him.
But do you even realize it yourself, William? And he took the final step that revealed his presence to the group of men.
"Hey- I got water" he said tentatively.

"Gabe!" William grinned despite himself. I didn't want to tell him how afraid he had been to never see him again, but somehow he hoped his relieved smile could translate it. "I saved Pete," he announced proudly.

Sisky took one look at Gabe and lost his nerve, squeezing his knees closer to himself and buring his face in them.

Michael dropped the blood soaked leaves he was holding and they fell with a wet plop. "Need some help?" He stood to give Gabe aid with the water.

"Yeah, let's just put it here" he said, leaning over to deposit the case on the ground, near Pete. "Thanks" he told Micheal. He turned to William and forced as natural a smile he could come up with. "Did you have to?" he said sarcastically. Despite his sarcasm, Gabe was grateful. If Pete had died, it would only have made things a hundred times worse. "Just kidding" he added, looking at the sogged up leaves on the ground.

Pete glared up at Gabe. Sure, Pete was usually the one cracking jokes. But joking about letting someone die isn't alright. Keeping his eyes locked on Gabe, Pete began to start feeling the itching of the dried blood on his skin. He resisted the urge to scratch at it, only because he was afraid he might hit a scar or something. He lay there motionless, except for his ribcage moving up and down, causing him pain every time he took in a breath.
