"Okay," Sisky didn't bother taking off his shirt and putting another on. No one was supposed to see him, and if they did and started asking questions he could use the horrible garment as a distraction.

Sisky approached the little clearing William had found him in. "It's right there."

If Pete thinks I'm gonna give a shit about what happens to-"Oh. Wow. Okay" he said, his eyes taking in the decor of the place. It had clothes spattered here and there, and stuff he recognized as Rylands.
"Wow. You guys really gave a go at it" he couldn't help saying. "Did you throw the trunk upside down, or... ?"

"We just wanted to see what was inside it. We didn't know it was yours. Sorry," Sisky was reluctant to walk any closer to it for fear the Butcher would see him but he had to clean up the mess.

"Let's hurry back."

Pete was heavier than he had expected the smaller man to be, but then again Pete was no woman. He could see Gabe and Sisky through the trees and was relieved he hadn't gotten them both lost.

The sound of Michael and Pete walking through the trees frightened Sisky because his nerves were already on edge. He stared at Michael for a few moments.

You're carrying him? What did he do for you? Do all Australians walk that loudly? He's going to notice us.

"I'm sorry I can't." Sisky stared at the Butcher where he was in the trees on the other side of the clearing. It was a miracle that he hadn't noticed them. He went into his little hut and put his shirt back on before making another run for it. He could always build another shelter, one far away from everyone.

It seemed like he'd done nothing but run away since he washed ashore.

Gabe's mouth was still aghast. What was wrong with him? What the hell is wrong with everyone on this damned island? Repressing several foul-mouthed words, Gabe looked around and saw that we was, yet again, alone. Several thoughts floated up his mind: where was he? Where was William? Where were the others?
Deep in thought, Gabe absent-mindedly gathered Cobra's belongings and scooped them up in the trunk, which he shut closed and dragged as he set foot in the deeper part of the jungle. He walked along the river streaming near a waterfall.

Michael stood and stared. It looked like he'd have farther to carry Pete, but it was time for a rest. He put the bassit down. "Where to now?"

Pete groaned as he was set down. Carefully making sure to steady his breath, he stared up at Michael, silently thanking the Aussie for carrying him. There was no way Pete could walk yet. "I don't know. Where did you want to walk to?"

"You're injured," Michael thought it was safe to point that out. What could Pete possibly want to do when he couldn't walk by himself.

"Who cares? I mean, honestly. No one did while I was getting my ass beaten by Gabe. Why should you now?" Pete kept smirking and using his seductive tone of voice. He needed to lure Michael in.

"I wasn't there." He gave Pete a careful look. He didn't remind him that when he'd come into the clearing he'd done everthing he could to help the injured man out. It wasn't his style to do things for the recognition like that. He had been genuinely worried about the man.

"I know. I think you might have been the only one who cared. But, what you need now is to care about what what you want," Pete nearly whispered, still using that voice. "Forget about the injuries," he hissed.

Michael closed his eyes a moment. For the first time since he'd woken up on the island someone was paying attention to him and what he wanted first. He wasn't the second choice. Nobody else was around.

But Pete? Did he really want to do this with Pete?
