Tom looked down at the scared young boy and tried to remember how he'd felt when he first saw a gun. He'd been scared too, he was sure of it. He'd felt that horrible sick feeling in his stomach, he'd cried. He'd begged for his life in front of a barrel. "Nur weil Sie baten." He said quietly. He took the gun out his pocket and curled the seventeen year old's fingers around it.

William bit his lip. He was starting to develop a very rational fear of guns, and seeing the German boy holding one was too much for him. He looked away.

Gabe let the pile of guns fall into a nearby trunk and kicked it shut, all the while keeping his eyes on the small Tom. He then proceeded to blindly push the trunk into the river where it sunk deep down out of sight. William, look at me.

"Ich wünsche es nicht." Tom said calmly, staring at it in distaste. He raised his hand to throw it into the river when the older man stopped him.

Tom gently pulled the gun out of the teenagers hand and sat it in his palm, staring at it. He pressed his lips to the hilt and threw it into the water. He watched it sink, shaking slightly.

William looked at Gabe, tears in his eyes. "T-Thank you," he mumbled.

Gabe walked to William and grabbed him from behind. "It's everyone's safety I'm trying to ensure here" he whispered as he slid his arms around the younger man's waist. He lifted his gaze at Tom. If you're so mad at us, then beat it. Get the hell out. "What do you want?" he simply asked. He made sure his grip around William's waist was visible, and the message clear.

"I'm getting my luggage so me and my boyfriend can feed our daughter." Tom replied scathingly, eyes flickering down to check Marlee was ok.

"Michael?" William asked in a small voice. And there, just like that, without really wanting to, he started crying. Sorry Gabe, sorry... He leaned back into his boyfriend's embrace.

Gabe tightened his arms around William, letting his head lay at the nape of his neck. This isn't right. This doesn't feel right.
"Micheal? Well, good. You have your stuff, now you can go" he said. He suddenly felt powerless. Leave, or my boyfriend's gonna jump into your arms.

"Michael." Tom nodded and grabbed his suitcase. "Someone who doesn't want me just for sex." He inclined his head at them and began to drag it away.

William sobbed and coughed a little. He turned around and hugged Gabe tightly, drying his tears on the man's shirt. "I love you, I love you," he whispered over and over.

"Bitte schreien Sie nicht!" Tom begged, frantically trying to make him stop. Why does this always happen around Tom?

Tom chuckled. "Say goodbye, Marlee." Say goodbye to the bastards. I hope I never see them again. But he didn't move far; just a little bit, to see what William would say.

William turned his head to look at Tom. "Fuck you," he said bitterly. "I never want to see you again." He clung to Gabe's shirt like his life depended on it.

Gabe let the younger man grab his shirt. He barely noticed it, he waited to see how Tom would react.

I know, and I deserve it. William cried even louder, pressing his forehead against Gabe's shoulder.

Gabe brought William close to him and held him in a tight embrace.
I'm second-choice here. He looked at Tom. I hope you're happy.
"Okay, so you can go now" he said in a low voice.

"On my way." Tom replied, smirking again. "By the way, I've had better." He aimed again at William, before disappearing out of sight, the suitcase lugging behind him.
