Tom pondered the question. He drew another figure and labelled it "Bill." He drew aheart next to him. "Duh." He pointed to Marlee and smiled impishly. "Wer mag sie nicht?" He flushed and tapped the picture of Michael with an embaressed shrug. "Wenig." He motioned with a wavering hand. "Aber Tom und Pete..." He shrugged again.

William smiled. "Okay, I get it." He gently patted the boy's head and chuckled. "This island needs more kids like you."

Tom grinned up at him. I have no idea what you just said. He wrinkled his nose and tongued his lipring thoughtfully.

Tom hummed quietly to Marlee to soothe her, eyes continually checking if she was ok with every step. The little girl wrapped her hand around a handful of hair and tugged, making him yelp.

"Tom?" William instinctively said, lifting his head to look around. He saw the man with his baby a several feet away. I hope he's okay... Judging the man hadn't seen him, he decided to let go of the German boy and follow Tom around. "Sorry Gabe, I just...I need to see if him and the child are alright, okay?" he whispered before standing up.

Tom hitched his trousers up and pottered after William, horribly aware that he didn't think the older man would be social.

"No." Tom said in a firm voice. "Don't do that, ok? Don't do that!" Marlee giggled and tugged again. He groaned.

Lifting a finger to his lips, William told the boy not to make a sound. "Quiet." He followed Tom without ever speaking, not knowing where he was heading to.

Tom bit the inside of his cheek and pulled his trousers up further. He made exaggeratedly slow steps to make sure he didn't make a sound.

Tom paused slightly. What the hell are they doing? His eyes alightened on his guns. If I'm quick... He kept talking to Marlee, making his way aimlessly over to the pile, acting like he didn't have a care in the world.

William looked at the boy. "What do we do?" He watched Tom, hoping he wasn't about to pick up a weapon. Please. Don't tell me I was wrong about you.

Tom guessed what William was saying. He bit his lip and let his trousers drop down to the floor. He assumed his most pathetic look. "Pleeze." he said in a carrying voice, looking straight at the older man.

Tom looked up from the pile of guns. "Nur ein. Mich sicher halten." He said calmly, wrapping his hand around it.

"Tom. No," William finally said. "You said you wouldn't! Put it down." You lied.

"Pleeze." Tom repeated, running to put a hand on his arm. "Wir halten Sie sicher." The man stood up, twirling the gun around his fingers.

"If you're going to take them away." Tom said, looking at the German boy, but directing his words at the two that spoke English. "Then you owe me $15,000. That's how much it's cost me to keep them."

William frowned. "That's all? I'll pay. I have no idea where I'll find that money but I'll pay."

Tom saw the conflicting emotions on the blonde man's face; the way he looked down at the guns. He needed those. Or he thought he did. There was clear longing written on his face.

Tom stared down at the weapons piled on the floor, bending down again. Each of them was worn into his hand, every single one had stories to tell. From the small .22 he'd first got, to the Sig Sauer Mikey had bought him recently. "I don't know why you bother." He said quietly. "I really don't." Marlee whimpered.

William moved closer to Tom. "Hey. Leave them there, or..." He swallowed. "Or I tell them who shot me."

Tom watched wide eyed as the father pointedly wrapped his hand around the smallest gun and jammed it in his pocket.

"You'd do it anyway." Tom snarled, stalking away to get his case. Marlee sensed the change in atmosphere and she whimpered.

William clenched his fists. "Fine! I'll tell him! I'll tell them all!" he shouted angrily. He spun around. "My bullet wound. Tom did it. He shot me and aimed to kill me."

Gabe had jumped on the pile of guns as soon as William had yelled. He tried to grab as many as he could. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
His brain didn't even have the time to register what William had said.

Tom had no idea what was going on. He ran up to Tom and caught his arm. "Ich weiß, daß Sie sicher sein möchten." He choked out, tears in his eyes. "Aber bitte, setzen Sie es zurück!" He begged.
