Gabe watched Tom walk away. He wanted to hold William as tightly as he could against him, instead he mouthed "You can always...." he sighed " ...run back to him."
Why am I saying this? Obviously, that's what he's gonna do. Great, Gabe. "Just stop crying..." he added in a quiet voice.

William violently shook his head, but spoke in a quiet voice. "I don't want to! I'm with you, I love you..." He sobbed. "If it wasn't the case I wouldn't be here. I chose you, I always did..." He took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry, Gabe...I never wanted to put you through this..."

Tom pulled away. He could tell he shouldn't be intruding. He hugged his knees again and watched.

William looked into Gabe's eyes. "I'm not lying. I can't pretend it doesn't affect me every time he walks away." He looked away. "Every time...every time he does, I know I could stop him. But I don't." He looked back at Gabe, new tears forming at the corner of his eyes. "Right now I don't because I love you."

Gabe slid a finger at the corner of William's left eye. "I'm here now. I'll always be there" he said.
I just want us to be happy together. Will that ever be?

William smiled weakly. Why aren't you angry? "Okay. I won't let things like that happen again. I-I'm over it now." I can't forgive what he said. His smile grew wider to make it more sincere. "I'm only yours." He didn't know what Gabe had understood of what Tom had said. Does he know I slept with him? Would he still want me if he knew?

I don't care what he says, it's all provocation Gabe had thought at the same time. I won't let things go to this extent again.
Gabe pressed his lips gently on William's forehead. "And I'll make you never regret that" he said.

William's lips quickly found Gabe's. He kissed him softly, gently, before holding him tighter. "Thank you. I really love you, Gabe. I owe you a lot." But please don't go around sleeping with everyone like I did. "And thank you for throwing the guns away. I didn't tell you, but I was scared. Tom shot me to bargain his daughter's safety. He missed. He wanted to kill me. I don't know how far he could have gone again... I didn't want something to happen to you." You're everything to me.

Gabe's cheek had flushed as he felt his blood rush at the touch of William's skin.
"If you stay with me, the whole country could hate me and I could care less" he said. "I don't want you to get hurt again. Your wound could have been so much worse..." his voice trailed off. "I'll protect you. I'll make you happy." I'll make the doubts leave your mind.

You really love me that much? William grinned. "You already make me happy. Don't ever doubt that." He traced vertical lines with his finger on the tanned skin of Gabe's neck. "I'm sorry for making a lot of stupid choices so far."

"Hey, Gabe...I was wondering...if we had sex and I was bad, you'd tell me, right?" He laughed nervously. "Sorry, I was just wondering."

If you tell me once more "I won't deceive you" or some crap like that, I swear I'll go drown myself. Gabe twitched. Empty promises are the lowest of low.

William shamelessly avoided the question. "Dude, I just asked if it was good or not." When I thought about telling you, I had imagined Tom by my side for moral support. Now I'm scared.

No crying this time. I knew what I was doing when I did it. I've got no excuse and I don't regret it. William stared at Gabe. "Tom," he simply said. "And Michael, but I was doing it for Tom." He didn't dare to move or look away.
