Watching as they suddenly became the smaller group, of which he was the only one not to sleep with William. He held Sisky near to him, almost protecting him from the grip of the guy who had joined them and looked over to Gabe with a air of concern evident in his eyes. "Look William, I'm sure everyone is glad you're okay, we just ..." would rather hear it from someone else than you in the flesh.

Tom watched silently, shaking. I could get her now. I could take my baby and run! But he knew he wouldn't. He knew Marlee meant too much to everyone here, that he would never be able to take her away from what had become her family. I saved your life. I endangered your life. "Fuck you." He stepped into the clearing, glaring at Gabe. "You know what? Fuck you!"

"You just what?" William snapped at Butcher. "Oh, I'm sorry, I get it. It has something to do with Sisky, right? Amazing." He looked at Sisky, who seemed under everyone's protection. "I don't know what you told them, but it was effective. Now I could get my ass kicked anytime and no one would give a fuck." It's funny, I can't remember you pushing me away. He looked at Gabe. "Give the baby to Tom. Please, Gabe. It's his child."

Sisky's eyes widened and he pushed himself away from the Butcher. I was wrong. It really is all my fault and now Bill's gonna get hurt because of it. I guess I was being paranoid. I owe you an apology most of all, Bill.

William's hands shook. "Did you tell them everything?" He smiled faintly. "Or did you forget to mention how you were the one who asked for it the first time, and I refused? What about the cuddling you were more than eager to do?" He laughed. "Oh yeah - and what about the whole marriage thing?" He took a step back. "You know what? I meant it when I said you were my best friend. I care about you, unlike what everyone here seems to think. So if you ask me to stay away from you from now on, I'll do it."

"William, can I talk to you?" Sisky separeted himself from Butcher completely and made sure to move away from Gabe as well. "I'm sorry. I was wrong." I wonder if you'll let me talk to you in private. Fuck. I better not come back.

William nodded, although he didn't like the thought of Gabe facing Tom without him being there. "Yeah. Okay." Of course you were wrong.

"Well, while we're at it, I'm sorry too. I didn't think I was doing anything against your will." William blushed slightly. "That's obviously what you told them, right? But it's okay now. I won't try anything again, don't worry." I got my lesson. "Do you think you can...fix it? Tell them I'm not like that. Please."

"It was just a misunderstanding," Sisky smiled faintly and shifted nervously. "Maybe it's better if we stay away from each other." His voice quieted to the level of being barely audible. "I think I'm falling in love with you." Why do I always end up back with you?

William's smile grew wider, but it was simply because he was nervous. "In love with me?" he repeated in a whisper. "Thank you, I guess. I won't...use it against you, if you know what I mean." He glanced at Butcher. "I don't really want to stop being around you, to be honest. Do you think you can just...put your feelings aside? I promise I won't try anything stupid." I like being with you. I don't want you to leave.

"Okay," Sisky breathed deeply to calm himself, blushing slightly. What's that smile for? What are you doing to me? "And I go clean from this moment on because I have no drug tolerence whatsoever."

"That works for me. Friends and only friends from now on." William held out his hand for Sisky to shake it. "Oh, and...don't tell Butcher about that, okay? There's really something between the two of you and I don't want to be the one ruining it again."

"Only friends," Sisky grabbed William's hand and shook it ridiculously high before lapsing into a serious handshake. "I'm sorry if I made Gabe doubt you. He's a nice guy." A little too big for me probably, but a nice guy. Since he was thinking about it, Sisky sort of looked forward to not having sex for awhile. He was sore. "You... You didn't do anything with Tom when you were away right? I might have caused him to think..."

William tried to seem as honest as possible. "When I came back to help Tom, I got attacked immediately," he explained. You're supposed to think I can't have sex while being scared and injured. He purposedly distracted Sisky from his original question, not wanting to lie to him. "Check this." He pointed his open wound. "It's kinda cool. I look badass now." He gave Sisky a light-hearted smile. "Hopefully Gabe can't resist a hot injured guy."

Sisky breathed in sharply and reached his hand out, stopping just before his fingers reached the wound. "You have to tell us what happened. It's not cool it's scary," he scolded, slapping William's arm lightly. We should probably go back to the others now.

William felt a weird sensation in his stomach when he remembered Tom kissing the wound. "I'll tell you guys once you're in the mood to hear it. Now Gabe and Butcher look like they want to slit my throat, so I think I'll wait." He walked up to the other guys, back where he had previously been standing. And I can rehearse the story in my head so Tom doesn't appear guilty of anything.

Sisky followed at a safe distance and looked up at the Butcher fearflully, "We had a misunderstanding, but we agree: no more drugs for Sisky. I have no tolerence." Don't be angry. I love you, Butcher. And Gabe, William loves you.

Tom glared at them, hand still on his gun. "You understand nothing!" He snarled. "So, what, I'm not allowed to have my daughter? I have guns to protect her, me and Mikey. You have... weed. And guys to sleep with. And you have the balls to try and act like you're better than me!"

William was getting seriously frightened by Tom. He shot me once, who won't care about who he shoots next. "Tom, don't say things like that about Gabe. He just cares about your child. A lot." He looked at Gabe as he continued speaking. "And he's going to give her back now."

Tom moved his hand from the gun and put them both up in the air. "Will he?" He asked bitterly. Of course. I musn't say things about your lover. What am I to anyone?

William glared at Gabe. "Yeah, he will." Gabe must think I'm on Tom's side, and Tom must think I'm on Gabe's side. What did I do wrong? "Gabe, just do it." He looked at Tom again, trying to read his expression. "Tom, you don't...need the guns, do you? I know you just want to protect Marlee, but no one here is going to harm her. Okay? You can get rid of the weapons now."

"No." Tom said simply. "I'm not getting rid of them." He looked at the two taller men. "I'm not getting rid of them. Having them doesn't make me irresponsible. I'm keeping them."

"I know, Tom. I know that. I just...don't like seeing you with guns, that's all." William sighed. And you should know why. To protect Marlee you were willing to kill me. "You and I both know you don't need them. I think Gabe means that it's either Marlee or the guns."

Tom's mouth tightened. "You can't do this." He whispered. "You can't do this. I'm not a threat. What... what happened with you will not happen again." He gripped William's wrist. "I know what to do now."
