Gabe felt a lump in his throat.
"Yeah. I'm blinded by the glare of your skin" he said, laughing.
"But geez, what a nice day, eh? The sun couldn't shine any brighter."

He raised his arms and took his shirt off. Rolling it up in his hoodie, he threw the ball of clothes in near high grass. He headed for the water.
"I think a nice soak would feel good" and with that his jeans began to pull upwards as he entered the deeper part.
"The water's perfect. Couldn't be better" he said to William. "They say you tan even more when you're in the water, especially salt water..." he said teasfully.

"Whoever said that probably assumed you didn't go in half-clothed."

He touched the water with the tip of his toes. "Nice temperature."
He walked in, and laughed as his jeans got tighter than the already were. "Well fuck."

He went in a little deeper than Gabe, and used his hands to pour water on his hair.

Gabe stretched in the water.
"I can't wait to get off this island. Go back to normal stuff." He looked at the sky. "Well, as normal as it could get" he added.
The water rustled down his neck and back.
"Man, this feels good! Hey, look at this! An attempted backflip!"
And he plunged in the water, only to come back up, competely soaked and searching for his breath. "Remind me to never try to become a lifeguard" he said.

"You'd get distracted by the bikinis while little kids drown." He sighed. "Not housewife, not lifeguard. Man, you ain't gonna do anything with your life."

William went in even deeper, to a point where he actually needed to swim, and moved his legs underwater. "I'm a mermaid! Merman! Mer...whatever." He giggled.

Gabe laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Man, where am I headed?"

His hair had already begun to dry. His golden necklace shone it's brightest out in the open sea, exposed to the intense rays of the sun.

Tom leant back on the tree, eyes following William as he bathed. His grey eyes were clouded with doubt and he clutched the pills in his pocket.

Michael stared blankly, not really seeing anything. His eyes looked like they were focused on something in the distance.

Tom pulled the bottle out and stared at it, unsure of what to do. He scuffed at the floor with his sneaker, shoving the pills back in his pocket. His foot hit something hard and he bent down, picking it up.

William gazed at the necklace. Somehow he wondered if Gabe's story about the cobra didn't have a tiny part of truth.

He looked at his pants again, uncomfortable by how much smaller the water had made them. "You know, I'd swim in my underwear if I was wearing any."

He ran both hands in his hair in an attempt to dry it.

Tom shrank further back into the tree, unsure if the other man could see him. He slipped his discovered object into the pocket of his jeans silently.

William sensed something, err, someone was watching him. He turned around. "Tom?"
And was right. "Since when do you stalk me?"
He waved, asking the man to join him in the water.

"Since you and Gabe left me all alone with the Australian." Tom said quietly, moving away from the tree. He didn't go into the water, just preyed on the edge. Tom was the only one still fully clothed.

"I thought you enjoyed being alone with the Australian." He glanced at Michael. "That's what it looked like so far."
Now I'm starting to be distant with Michael. That's just dumb. He never asked for this.

"Come in the water. You'll like it."

"I don't have any other clothes." Tom rubbed his arm uncomfortably. He'd never felt so unsure, not for a very long time. He tapped the object in his trousers, almost for comfort.

He shrugged. "Me neither." And he meant it literally, since the only thing he was wearing were jeans.

William swam until his feet could touch the sand, and reached for Tom's hand. "Come on!"

Tom gritted his teeth and tentatively took William's hand, allowing himself to be pulled into the water, fully clothed.
"Oh...!" He suddenly cursed. "My pills!"

Gabe gave him a proud look, shaking the bottle in one hand.
"Got 'em. No need to worry. And don't ask how I got them outta there." He pointed his wet trousers.
"It's good to see you interact a bit. We were starting to get worried, there."

Seeing that Tom had stopped moving, William wrapped his arms around the guitarist's waist to tug him.

Tom leant into William's bare shoulder tiredly, watching the sea darken his clothes as he was led further into the swirling water. He suddenly reached for William's hand.

William let Tom take his hand. "What?"
It was odd to see him, usually wearing large shirts, with the thin fabric of his clothes sticking to his skin. The boy surely didn't complain.

"N-nothing." Tom stammered, shivering. Tentatively, he let go of William's hand and splashed the singer, a mischievious smile on his face.

He had missed the smiles and the teasing. And the absence of worries.

Tom took a breath and dived under the water. "God, I hate it when my hair's wet." He ran his hand through it. "It's bad enough when it's dry." He splashed William again.

William placed a hand over his face just in time to avoid receiving more water.
"Your hair doesn't look bad, but you should have copyrighted the cut."
