Tom slipped his arm away from William and hurried up to them. "Was geschehen?" He asked urgently, kneeling beside them. He swore. "Right now, I could really have done with wearing more than one shirt." He muttered.

William hurried after Tom, and gasped when he saw Michael. He kneeled down next to him. "Dude, are you alright?"

"Yes," Michael closed his eyes again. "I'm great, Bill." It was strangely like sarcasm.

"Es ist nicht Ihr Fehler." Tom said soothingly. He turned to William and jerked his head towards the little boy. "Michael, can you hear me?" He asked, keeping his voice smooth and even.

William sat there, clueless and...not German-speaking. He looked at the boy, cleared confused. "What happened?" he whispered.

"Tom?" Michael struggled to open his eyes again. Tom. With William. His heart sank and he closed his eyes again.

Tom sniffled and climbed into William's lap. "Was ist das?" He asked, pointing to the tourniquet.

"No, it's the Abominable Snowman." Tom said fondly. "A tree fell on you? What, you're a lumberjack now? I thought that was rednecks?" He pushed Michael's fringe out of his eyes.

"Uh, bullet wound," he told the boy. William made the shape of a gun with his fingers.

"Tom wanted to climb the tree. Did he put his pants back on? They fell." Michael mumbled sleepily. Maybe saying as much as possible would wake him up.

Tom widened his eyes and mimed shooting a gun at William. "Wer?" He asked.

Tom blinked. "Right..." He bit his lip. "You're concussed, I think... oh no, wait. You're not. You have to have a brain to be concussed." Suddenly, he caught wind of William's conversation. "That's "who"." he clarified.

William tilted his head backwards to look at Tom upside-down. "I guessed it, thanks." He looked at the boy again. "Uhm...Tom's father. Father?" He pointed Tom, and tried to indicate someone taller.

"Huh?" Michael blinked a couple times in a daze. "Your father? Tom? Are you okay? I love you?" He instantly forgot about what he'd said. "Heeeeey did you say I have no brain?"

William stared - no, glared - at Michael. He tried to ignore what he had said continued talking with the boy. "Uh...Vader? Ja. Tom's vader."

Michael frowned, holding onto a brief lucid moment, "I said you were important to me first. Then you left, but you still are." He relaxed his muscles.

Tom flushed. "Sssh, Michael, you're dazed. You don't know what you're saying. "Tom, Könnten Sie den Boden von Ihrem Hemd ab reißen?" He asked.

"Vater, ja," William repeated, blushing out of embarassment. He turned to Tom. "Dude, I have no idea what you just said, but it'd like to state that I said I was in love with you before Michael even realized it." He frowned.

Tom nodded and scampered off William's lap to pull his jeans back on. He ripped off a strip and handed it to the older man.
