It took a while for William's breathing to be completely back to normal and let him speak without gasping for air every two word.
"I'm fine now. Thanks for being there." I bet it wasn't fun at all.

"I bet you wish Gabe was here to take you in his arms and say something cheesy romantic before kissing you softly. It seems like more of a Gabe thing than a Tom thing anyway." Sisky looked like he was considering doing it in Gabe's place.

William blushed. "Maybe. Yeah, I guess you're right. But Gabe's not too much of a cheesy guy. He'd probably yell at me because I smoked in the first place."

"What are we promising?" Sisky giggled a little, giddy with happiness that his best friend wasn't going to hack out a lung right in front of him.

William thought about it. "To always be there for eachother," he concluded. "When you'll be housewife to Butcher and I'll be old and coughing my lungs out in an hospital. Promise?"

"You bet." He placed his hand on where Sisky's tongue had been. If I traded Sisky for Jeannie, I wonder if they'd see the difference in behavior...?

"Do you mind if I just stay there for a while and take a nap? Tom and Gabe are probably already pissed at me for running away; I think I'll wait before they see me wearing a woman's shirt and smelling pot."

William curled in a little ball, hugging his knees. "There's no casa on an island." He closed his eyes. "I miss home."

He rubbed William's back in slow circles to try to help soothe him.

William yawned and smiled.

Sisky was always that bordeline-annoying little bunch of energy we loved. Now that we're here, he's the only one calming me like that. The island fucks up people, but sometimes for the best...

Fuck. You scared me William, but right now you look so peaceful. You look tired too. Has that much happened when I was out trying to be the Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty at the same time? I wish I could do something for you, but maybe all you need is sleep.

Sisky frowned slightly.

I'm not falling in love with you. It's friendship. Maybe some lust. It will pass.

William grasped the man's shirt and brought him closer.
"Pillow," he mumbled, almost asleep.
