Tom realised he was standing inside the flat. What's going to happen now?

"Label the axis." Tom tapped his daughter's math book. "You'll lose marks otherwise." Marlee huffed but did as she was told.

"I'm not stupid, y'know." She huffed, laboriously plotting points. "I'm not Michael, jeez." The offended Australian squeaked in protest, looking up from the television. The younger blonde nodded in agreement.

"That's good to know, seeing as you're my daughter." The teenager pulled a disgusted face as she joined points. "That reminds me, we still haven't had THE talk."

"Tom, it's not involving porn." Michael reminded his lover, pulling him onto the couch. Their fourteen year old coughed loudly, putting her books away. The older man laughed quietly, nuzzling into Tom's neck.

"Ok, I'm going out." Marlee shuddered, blocking out the image of the two otherwise occupied men. Mikey gave a hoarse laugh, turning the page in his book.

"So lucky I'm blind." He commented as Tom pushed his husband away.

"Going out? Wearing that? I think not!" He looked his daughter up and down. She was wearing a skirt that she'd rolled up and a blouce with the first two buttons undone. Long striped socks were pulled up past her knees. "Upstairs. Now. Go change."

"Dad, you are so uncool!" Marlee stomped up the stairs.

"Dad, Michael, - oh, hey Mikey, didn't see you - this is my boyfriend Robert." Marlee squeezed her boyfriend's hand. Tom abrubtly rose to his feet and unlocked his weapons cabinet. He pulled out his Sig Sauer and began to polish it. "Dad!"

"Uh, hi Mr Chislett, Mr... uh..." Robert trailed off, unsure what to call Tom and Mikey. His brown eyes focused on the Sig nervously.

"Russell." Mikey snorted. "And Tom's Chislett too." He turned blindly towards Tom. "What does he look like?" Michael placed a hand over his husband's mouth.

"Ginger, brown eyes, ok guy." He said swiftly. Tom glared at Robert, pushing Michael's hand away.

"I have five gun licenses." He told the boy conversationally.

"Ok Dad." Marlee rolled her eyes. "We're going upstairs."

"OH NO YOU'RE NOT!"

Tom's brain had split into two halves. One was screaming: Paranoid Dad! Let the kid have some fun!, whilst the other was saying, in a more rational voice: Responsible. Caring. You did it kiddo! He grinned.
