Gabe sat motionless for a second. "But I don't want to hurt you," he said in a small voice. All of his drive had left him; it wasn't his intention to cause harm. "I wanna go home too," Gabe whispered in a choked voice. He lay a hand on William's back and took a deep breath. Ever since they had fallen here he had wanted to go home. Now that he had his first half of happiness, he knew the second half waited for him in the form of his appartment in Brooklyn. He cradled William against him. "We'll get through this."

I'm scared of how long it can take to get over it." He shifted. "What if I don't? What if I can't do everything you want me to?" He frowned. "If Pete ruined anything between us, he's a dead man."
