William was exhausted by all the running, the screaming, the crying - but especially the fucking. He collapsed in the pure white sand as soon as his feet touched it, and closed his eyes. So if I got everything right, my boyfriend left me for another guy because I was too much of a fag. That's nice. He sighed, a breathed calmly after that. There were things he couldn't change or apologize for, and that was one of them. It's just not gonna work. Not with him, not with anyone. He fell asleep there, never really noticing the line between consciousness and his dreams.

Sisky snuggled against the Butcher's chest as the man carrying him walked, opening his eyes to look around when he no longer felt the cool shade of the trees. "It's a nice," Sisky mumbled as he let his eyes sweep the sand and suddenly stopped when he saw a body in the middle of it. He wiggled free of Butcher's arms and ran over to see who it was.

"Oh God... It's William," he let his eyes scan his friend's visible skin. Bruises. Please don't be dead, Billvy. He hugged himself, afraid to touch just in case the singer was really dead.

William's ears seemed to perceive the sound of voices; he turned and rested on his back, his lips slightly parted and his hands clutching fistfuls of sand beneath him.

Sisky knelt next to his friend and put his hands on his thighs. He's alive! "Willilam? Can you hear me?" He looked up at the Butcher nervously.

William clutched Sisky's hand before actually waking up, revealing reddened tired eyes. "Sisky...?" he asked, confused.

"Are you okay?" Sisky moved his free hand so he was holding William's in both of his. "Why are you alone?"

Don't make him seem like the worst asshole on Earth. "Friendly breakup," William replied after a short hesitation. "Gabe and I realized it couldn't work, so we just went our separate ways." He looked over Sisky's shoulder and smiled when he saw Butcher. Good, good.

Sisky kissed William's knuckles and gave him his arm back, staring at the bruises. Friendly breakup? "Who hurt you?" he asked bluntly. He followed William's eyes and looked back at the Butcher, who shared his grim expression. We'll help you, Bill. We love you.

Gabe did. Gabe is hurting me. "Pete," William answered, chasing the thoughts away. "But I'm fine now, really. We fought and I got my ass kicked. That's all." He hoped Sisky wouldn't notice that the bruises went on lower than the waistline of his jeans.

"You're lying," Sisky frowned slightly. You've been beaten up before and you never looked this sad. He followed the bruises up William's arms and flicked his eyes down to see where they stopped. He gently hooked a finger on William's jeans just to see and let go when his question was answered. "William..."

William quickly turned his head and looked away. Shit. "It's nothing. I shouldn't have angered him the way I did, that's all. Seriously, it's no big deal." He looked at his hand, his eyes fixed on the sand slipping through his fingers.

"It is a big deal," Sisky said in a steady voice, trying to control his anger. "No one should be forced to do that against their will." His eyes darkened and he stared at the waistline of William's jeans wondering just how bad it was underneath.

"It's nothing compared to doing it with someone willing and leaving them immediately after," William whispered, chewing on his bottom lip. He moved his hands to his pants and pulled them up a little. "But anyways. What's done is done."

William wrapped his arms around Sisky and pulled him down for a hug, hoping Butcher wouldn't mind. "I didn't want Gabe to leave," he whispered, sobbing in Sisky's ear. "We had sex and then he said it was wrong. He doesn't love me. He never did."

"Wrong?" Sisky said in disbelief. "I thought he liked it when..." He cut off what he was about to say because he knew Butcher wouldn't want to hear it. He wrapped his arms around William carefully. "I'm sorry, Bill. You don't deserve this."

I deserved everything and you know it. William hid his face against Sisky's neck. "Can I stay with you guys for a little while? Not too long, just... I don't want to be alone. I promise I won't be a burden to anyone."

"Sure Billvy," Sisky said in a soothing voice. "But you don't have to leave. We're trying to stay in a group." But we might have lost Frank and Mikey on the way. Oops.

He looked up at the Butcher as the other man drew closer and petted the back of William's head. Don't be mad, Butcher. I love you, but we can't leave him like this.

William smiled and nodded. "Thank you so fucking much." He extended his arm and placed it behind Butcher's back, bringing the two men in a close embrace. He fought the urge to cry. It won't be the same.

"I know I can't fix it," Sisky whispered, unsure if he was saying the right thing. "But if you need anything just ask, okay?"

"Okay." William held both men tighter for a second before letting go. He stretched his arms, arching his back, and let himself fall in the sand. "You guys should adopt me."

"You're older than me." Sisky shivered and wrapped Butcher's arms around himself, still not believing that something so terrible could have happened to his best friend. "I'm the mom."

"Girls are yucky," Sisky muttered then thought a moment. "I haven't seen anyone of the female persuasion." I'm probablly the closest thing besides the baby.

William crossed his arms. "Then I'm becoming asexual. Gay relationships are definitely not my thing." He pouted. "I had to fall in love with a straight guy. I thought I could be...you know, the one exception, maybe. But there's already one, and it's not even me."
