The first thing William notices his the small woman in the next row, craddling a crying baby in her arms. He sees the child, his tiny fists clenched, screaming. He doesn't hear a sound.
Then he sees the middle-aged flight attendant with her short platinum blond hair. She's crying, too, but she looks more peaceful.
The lights keep going on and off.
Sisky turns around to look at Butcher, fear in his eyes. Butcher was already looking at him. He whispers something, but it seems choked by the screams and sobs.
Mothers try to put on oxygen masks on their kids. Oddly, the children seem rather calm, but the masks often slip off the parents' shaking fingers.
People get up to retrieve their luggage, maybe hoping to find a cellphone. The bags inevitably falls down. A man standing up is knocked out by a laptop case.
His body feels numb. He's too shocked to be horrified. Everything is happening too fast.
At some point, he can't tell whether things are falling or they just get thrown.
Mike shoves William's head down to protect him. Something drips on the nape of his neck.
And then it fades to black.
